About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning hand carved in Victorian mahogany height adjustable piano stool with hand embroidered seat attributed to Gillows of Lancaster A very good looking and well made piano stool, its exactly what collectors are looking for due to the ornately carved base, the upholstery looks period but I can’t be sure, I can have it replaced for brown leather should the new owner wish for the cost price We have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there will be age related patina marks all over I have the matching harpist stool which is in Rosewood and was sold to me as a Gillows, neither piece is stamped, this has exactly the same base, the reeded legs, everything Dimensions: Height 45.5cm adjustable Width 32.5cm at the top, 34cm at the feet Depth 32.5cm at the top, 34cm at the feet Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition: Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
