Rare 17th Century Walnut Stool
Rare late 17th century walnut stool of lovely colour and surface patination. On bobbin-turned supports and stretchers. Upholstered in old needlework, and close-nailed. All in excellent condition. See Ralph Edwards ‘The Shorter Dictionary of English Furniture’, Fourth impression 1972, p. 501, ill. 12, for similar turnings on an oak stool, which is dated to 1670. Measurements: W 17” (43 cm.) D 15” (38 cm.) H 17” (43 cm.) Circa 1680.
