Rare Set of Arthur Umanoff for Shaver Howard Iron Bar Stools

About the Item

Rare and strikingly modern set of bar stools designed by Arthur Umanoff for Shaver Howard, c.1975 Mid-century modern icon and master of iron, American designer Arthur Umanoff brings a more sleek and modern idea to the table with these bar stools. While he's known for designing more rustic looking mid-century modern furniture, using bamboo, wood, and iron, this set highlights a more minimal approach. Totally stripped of ornamentation or his usual mix of materials, the iron bares an industrial and simplistic shape, ready to meld with many different interior styles. Unobtrusive, but still making a statement. Extremely sturdy, heavy, and well built. All four barstools were recently reupholstered in a quality leatherette. All seats can be easily removed for new upholstery, if desired.

  • Sculptural Neon Torchiere Floor Lamp by Let There Be Neon for George Kovacs
By Rudi Stern and Don Chelsea
    Located in Chicago, IL
A true statement. Sculptural, monolithic torchiere with a magenta neon element designed by Dan Chelsea of Let There Be Neon, founded by Rudi Stern, in collaboration with George Kovacs. A total must have for any fan of the eclectic and post-modern, the lamp warrants a comment from anyone who walks into it's space. It features two separate knobs - one controlling the neon mechanism, and the other acting as a dimmer switch for the torchiere. The torchiere takes a standard bulb. A total stand out piece, and one that acts as much of a piece of art as it does a lamp. Perfect for home or business. This lamp would make a real impact in a high end retail setting. The same lamp was recently featured in A24 production 'Uncut Gems...
