About the Item
A new classic in itself, ‘Sculptural Bronze Stool’ by Dublin-born and Manhattan-based interior designer Carol Egan lies at the crossroads of past and future. Very minimalist in style, this stool was developed using 3-D modeling software before being casted in bronze. A shearling or Toyine Sellers' fabric upholstery adds to the piece the final perfect and refined soft touch.
Over the last decade Dublin native Carol Egan has built up a sterling reputation as one of the world’s leading interior designers, working on prestigious corporate projects and luxury residences across the United States, Europe and Asia from her Manhattan-based firm, CarolEgan Interiors. Most recently, she has launched her first exclusive line of contemporary, minimalist furniture.
‘As a designer, I’m interested in digital technology,’ says Carol. ‘I am fascinated by the process of creating complex geometries using 3-D printer software to make prototypes during the design process. But what really excites me is when you combine this modern technology with traditional production techniques like bronze casting. It’s in the hands of a refined craftsman, that each piece is truly made unique.’
