O Formigueiro

View Profile
O Formigueiro (The Anthill) is the result of the gathering and exchange between 3 designers, who are diverse in talents and techniques. Their distinct strengths are united in the same design process, always creating with their bare hands. Caio Bahouth (27), Lucas Portes (29), and Vinicius Mesquita (27) first met while undergraduate students in Industrial Design at PUC-Rio. The first two studied product design and the last majored in graphic design, that diversity allows the studio to have a wide range of possibilities in the design field. During university, the three designers developed several projects as a team and as time passed, they wanted to start working professionally together. At the beginning of 2013, on their senior year, they decided to officially establish the studio. So O Formigueiro is born. The name chosen was inspired by the living organism brought together by thousands of ants that always work together in harmony, each one with its own function and expertise. Caio, Lucas and Vinicius try to work the same way. The result is a variety of projects and products in different platforms, with their own identity and in constant evolution. In spite of having a short history, the studio has already been part of exhibitions in many cities in Brazil and abroad, such as such as Milan Design Week and Paris Design Week.
