Beautiful bookcase by Willem Lutjens for De Boer Gouda, manufactured in The Netherlands in 1953. It has birch stands and teak plywood shelves, a rare and beautiful version of this bookcase, that is one of the most iconic pieces in Dutch design. Because of it's open structure it would also suit perfectly as a room divider. It is easy to take apart and rebuild. During the fifties and sixties bookcases inspired by this design became very populair and there were many produced, but only the Lutjens bookcase has the iconic bent ends on the shelves, giving it it's unique appearance. This original bookcase became a very rare piece and is a great addition to any interior. In good condition with minor wear, consistent with age and use.
