About the Item

Circa 1800-1810 Regency period secretaire bookcase, English. A stately design. Mahogany with particularly excellent figure in the drawer fronts which brighten & lighten the overall piece. Raised on French splay feet. 6-pane glazed doors enclose three molded, adjustable shelves. The elegantly oval inlaid secretaire drawer reveals a simple, yet handsome interior of 7 small drawers, a large drawers above a paper storage or ledge space & 5 pigeon holes. Modern baize writing surface. Oak lined drawers. Floating panel back construction in the upper case. Typical housekeeping repairs over the generations.
