Early 18th Century Walnut Bureau Bookcase

About the Item

Early 18th century walnut bureau bookcase, the shaped cornice above a mirrored front bookcase with the two doors opening to reveal shelf space, various compartments and six oak lined drawers, the bottom of the bookcase having two pull out candle slides, the bureau below having a fall opening to reveal further drawers and compartments including a well, the fall having a green leather writing surface decorated with blind tooling, the front of the bureau having two short over two long oak lined drawers with original brass plate handles and escutcheons, supported on bracket feet. Circa 1740.
