French mahogany bibliothèque or bookcase in the Louis XVI style, with two side doors, and a central door with four adjustable shelves (early 20th century) from the Faubourg Saint Antoine in Paris. The two side doors have diamond parquetry detailing, and there are gilded-bronze acanthus-formed mounts spiraling around fluted pilasters. A gilt-bronze plaque at the top features a scene of cherubs at play. A metal label inside one of the doors provides in part: Myrtil DENNER & P. ALEXANDRE, 64 Faubourg St. Antoine, Paris.
