About
A delightful 18th century mahogany bureau bookcase of
attractive small proportion having dental cornice above single
gilt framed shaped mirror door to top and well figured flap
above three long drawers with original brass handles to base
standing on original shaped bracket feet
(A very good example of it's type this bureau bookcase
retains a good color & patina and it has been constructed
using good quality mahogany. The overall size and proportion
is rarely found and it is small enough to fit just about any space or
environment one could begin to imagine. The mirror
plate in the door, whilst probably not original, has certainly
been in situ for a significant portion of the items life and has
therefore aged accordingly. The elegant brass handles are
original as are the bracket feet. Another nice touch is the
shaping of the mirror plate panel in the door which of
course just adds to the overall elegance)
