- Condition:Additions or alterations made to the original: The original piece was an antique door surround produced circa 1715. The frontage, crown and sides are what comprised the door surround. The backing, floor, rear sides and shelves were professionally built to turn this into a fabulous bookcase. Wear consistent with age and use. Good antique condition with previous restorations, age separations, rubs, nicks and scratches. Waxed finish to exterior boards, but not shelves or backing. Bookcase is joined by dowels in the antique sections, threaded bolts on the bottom interior,.
