Late 19th Century French Louis XVI Style Rosewood Marquetry Bookcase or Vitrine

This late nineteenth century Louis XVI style rosewood bibliotheque or bookcase features intricate marquetry in lemonwood and sycamore. Each panel is detailed with an inset border of finely inlaid lemonwood and the edges of the piece are lined with bronze filets. The top of the piece displays scrolling leaves, and its two doors below are additionally decorated with scrolling leaves as well as classic Louis XVI baskets of flowers. Its two doors open to allow access to an interior with three adjustable shelves. The cabinet measures 34.75 inches wide by 11.75 inches deep, c. 1870
