Early 19th Century George III Mahogany Secretaire Bookcase. Bookcase features a broken swan-neck pediment with fretwork design, above a molded cornice. The upper cabinet features two glazed doors with astragal mullions forming a diamond lattice pattern, opening to adjustable interior shelving. Below, a fall-front writing drawer opens to reveal a fitted interior with drawers and cubbyholes. Beneath are three graduated drawers with beautifully figured mahogany veneers and original brass pulls. Raised on shaped bracket feet. This bookcase, with its classical proportions, make it both functional and decorative for traditional or transitional interiors.
