This minimalist Brazilian shelf system in solid steel and wood is designed within an architectonic and geometric reasoning. Two free towers are made by three columns "tied" by three triangles to sustain three shelves. An exercise in minimalism to achieve maximum lightness without compromising functionality. Carlos Shelf system is simple and smart design for an understated ambience.

About the Maker

Samuel Lamas

LAMAS is an architectural, design and enginneering practice with office in Brasilia. The studio is led by the founder, the civil engineer Ruy Lamas and his son, the architect Samuel Lamas, who is the creative director of the firm. In its creation in 1987, LAMAS operated exclusively in civil construction and since 2009 the studio creates and developes also contemporary architectural projects and furniture pieces. The quality of LAMAS’s work has been recognized through the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) in Chicago by winning the " Best interiors of Latin America and the Caribeean competition 2017". LAMAS´s furniture pieces has been selected for Design + art do Brasil auction at PIASA, in 2017 in Paris. The firm develops products with architectural and geometric reasoning. The aim is to create simple and light pieces to serve contemporary human life. About the partners: Ruy Lamas : Born in Belo horizonte, in 1947 is Brazilian a civil engineer graduated at FUMEC , Belo horizonte. He holds a Master degree in Business Administration from the University of Brasilia. Samuel Lamas : Born in Brasilia in 1980 is a Brazilian architect graduated at the Università degli Studi di Roma 3, Rome, Italy. He has worked with the italian architect Massimiliano Fuksas in 2005.
