Stunning and rare Art Deco Haagse School open bookcase. Design by Frits Spanjaard for L.O.V. Oosterbeek. Striking Dutch design from the 1920s. Solid oak with three original solid oak shelves and they are adjustable in height. This rare piece of furniture open bookcase cannot be dismantled! In very good condition with a beautiful patina. Marked with original manufacturers tag on the back side. The Modernist look of this wonderful Art Deco open bookcase is also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
