The arched opening on this tall bookcase provides an elegant space for display of just about anything! Made from a combination of classic English design and stunning rustic pine wood, this bookcase is sure to look stunning in any home or office setting. Pine is a great wood that provides ideal rustic charm to any setting. The maker of this piece heavily distressed the wood giving it old looking marks, worm holes, etc. These marks come together to add charm and character to the bookcase. Pine is a spectacular wood for making furniture as it provides a light and warm piece to enhance your space. This piece was made in England sometime around the year 1980, making it a wonderful vintage furniture piece. Inside the arched opening are three adjustable painted shelves. (The top shelf does not go any higher than what is shown in the pictures) These have a usable depth of 13.75?. Thick pine defines the sides and a molded crown adorns the top. Inside the wood cabinet doors is one fixed shelf. These doors do not lock but stay shut with ball bearing latches. Carved grape decorations to the side of these doors look great with the overall design of the bookcase. Finally a solid plinth base makes a sturdy bottom. Overall in good condition, there are a few minor cosmetic issues to point out. A small area of light marks exists on the right side of the front. Minor wear marks can be found around the plinth base and here are there elsewhere. Otherwise, the piece was heavily distressed when it was made, so small intentional marks are abundant. A small knot of wood is missing from the bottom molding of the top section. This is a sturdy and beautiful piece of furniture. You can put this tall arched bookcase in almost any room and it will serve your family for many years to come! The bookcase does breakdown into top and bottom.
