A charming 18th century mahogany library bookcase of diminutive proportions having 13 pane astragal glazed doors to top enclosing adjustable shelves over superbly figured panel cupboard doors to base enclosing various drawers with original brass handles raised on original plinth base (This charming bookcase which dates to the mid- 18th century retains an exceptional color and patina throughout. It has clearly stood in one place, in one house for a large proportion of it's life and has been both well loved and well used. It is very practical in terms of it's unusually small size making it perfect for modern and old homes alike. Two of the shelves in the top section are adjustable allowing for flexibility in terms of the size of the items which are displayed in there and the concealed drawers in the bottom section are a most welcome and unusual feature making it much easier to arrange the items which you choose to store in there. Overall the condition is very good and the bookcase is ready to go straight into active service in a home or office)
