Antique French Vaisselier Buffet Cabinet, Handcrafted Oak, Circa 1870

About the Item

An antique French Vaisselier made of hand crafted Oakwood, in good condition. The word Vaisselier refers to a piece of furniture for storing and displaying dishes. The detailed buffet is composed with a shelf cabinet which is resting on the lower cabinet. The lower part of the large display cupboard is consisting two doors and drawers, particularized with their original brass hardware. The buffet was constructed by a cabinetmaker using French Oakwood, which during the period was considered the premier wood. Minor fading, scratches due to age. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1870 - 1890, France.
