About the Item

Black hand-painted Buffet or Sideboard probably made in Asia, but that is strictly a hypothesis based on the wood species, which appears to be similar to mahogany. When we look closely at our Black painted Buffet, it appears that when new it was most likely finished in a natural wood stain, later painted white and finally, its current shade of black. Furniture can sometimes follow fashion and for a while white was the in color, only to be superseded by black. The Buffet is quite heavy and everything is thick and solid so it's a bit about what we typically see with many imported goods.
