Carved French Buffet Deux Corps
About the Item
This French buffet deux corps is profusely carved with repeating stylized leaf designs with free standing carved grapevine and grape motif columns in the upper section that support carved figures of men. The upper cornice has a double open balustrade. There is a large leaf design in the center panel that is carved in high relief. It is flanked by carved stylized lions. (shrinkage cracks in both). The themes in the upper section are repeated throughout the lower section. The steel escutcheons are original while the brass ring pulls are later. All interior surfaces have been lined with modern floral acrylic.
