Fabulous Large Sideboard Attributed to Roger Landault, France, Probably Ashtree
Fabulous large sideboard attributed to Roger Landault, France, 1950s, probably Ashtree Born in 1919, Roger Landault studied at the Lycée des Arts Appliques in Paris. His career is marked by his ability to adapt: ??the English designer has evolved from a modern furniture billiard debut to thermoformed plastic in the 1970s, integrating benches called Unibloc, edited by Steiner. In 1945, he joined the Studium du Louvre. That same year, he won the first prize in the Meuble de France competition. ABC in 1946, on the creations of the furniture of reconstruction with Junior (1951-1954), the juxtaposable creations in solid wood with Dakar and Rotterdam (1955-1959) which itself are worth obtaining the prize René-Gabriel, Panama (1959-1961, see the dressing table with door sheathed leather), two Scandinavian style lines with Chatelaine and Rio (1960-1961). But Roger Landault works with other publishers like Bouvier (see the chair 6517, published from 1954). Roger Landault dies in 1983. Our sideboard can be dated around the end of the 1950s, and is a rare example of his experiments on different shades of fruitwood.
