Regence Period Buffet deux Corps in Walnut, France c. 1720
About the Item
A fine Buffet deux Corps, dating from the Regence period and French in Origin. The exterior in fine figured Walnut, with carved designs in the Rococo taste and a deep moulded cornice and apron. The piece is notable for possessing exceptional detail on the sides as well as front, and for retaining it's original no-mortise hinges & key escutcheons. The frame rests atop pad feet in the front, and block feet in back, all behind an over-hanging apron.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Very fine antique condition, with a beautiful aged color to the Walnut, and with minimal wear to the exterior. The interior shelves later in date, and the frame without major restoration, some evidence of old wood-worm.
