18th Century Dutch Renaissance Cabinet

About the Item

This late 18th century cabinet is a so called 'kussenkast' or pillow cabinet. The pillow refers to the shape of the raised panels in the doors. It is a typical Dutch Renaissance cabinet. The pillows are enhanced by the various colored parts. It is constructed of solid oakwood, ebony veneer and walnut veneer. It stands on ebonised bunfeet. The cabinet has two fixed shelves and original hardware.
