19th Century Qing Dynasty Red Lacquer Small Cabinet with Doors and Drawers
About the Item
A Chinese Qing Dynasty period red lacquered cabinet from the 19th century, with two drawers, double doors, scrolling motifs and traces of black lacquer. Created in China during the Qing Dynasty in the 19th century, this red lacquer cabinet features a rectangular top with central board, sitting above two small drawers fitted with bronze ring pulls on circular backplates. The rest of the façade showcases two doors fitted with a large traditional bronze medallion with teardrop pulls and petite key, opening to reveal a dark lacquered interior with inner shelves offering convenient storage opportunities. These doors are connected to two thin hinges topped with scrolling motifs evoking capitals over columns. The cabinet presents a vivid red lacquer accented by traces of a black lacquer that creates a perfect distressed touch. The sides showcase a reddish brown lacquer while the back is fully brown. Raised on four short feet, this Chinese Qing Dynasty period red lacquer small cabinet from the 19th century will bring a pop of color to any home, whether placed in a living room, kitchen or hallway.
