Fabulous quality antique English George III diminutive size, carved and fretted mahogany "Chinese Chippendale" bookcase or display cabinet Please note superbly "blind fretted" and chamfered legs, cornice apron and florette carved border edge and barring on glass. With superlative marquetry inlays of satinwood quarter fans on the perimeter of each drawer as well as "Adam" style satinwood and ebony fan escutcheons, to the delicate checkered inlay on the cornice frieze, this Chest on Chest has it all. Please note that this is a superior made Chest on Chest having elm drawer linings versus the traditional oak or deal (pine) all standing upon handsome ogee feet. Please note the substantial number of images showing the great condition of this piece and the hand dovetailed top signifying the early Georgian date when this was done.
