Chinese Lattice Kitchedn Cabinet with Restoration

About the Item

Chinese furniture is known for its practicality, beauty, and sturdy construction. This storage cabinet features lattice doors and a lacquer finish that has aged to a beautiful patina. Though this is a “softwood” piece; made from pine wood, it has the elegant details of much finer pieces used elsewhere in an aristocratic home. The frame is beveled according to classic Ming design principles. The chest has very little overt decoration, aside from the door lattice and the lock plate on the top storage bin. The piece dates to the mid 19th century and came from Zhejiang province. The finish is original; wear consistent with age and use. This piece will be ready to ship by the end of September 2021.
