French 19th Century Empire St. Mahogany, Polychrome and Fossilized Marble Cabine

About the Item

A handsome and most impressive French 19th century Empire st. mahogany, polychrome and fossilized marble cabinet. The four door, three drawer cabinet is raised by fine block feet below striking square tapered supports with charming feet which lead upwards to intricately carved polychrome caryatids. At the center are two doors which open to reveal one shelf and two additional doors at each side which open to reveal two shelves. Each door displays elegant ormolu keyhole escutcheons and retains their original hardware. At the elegantly rounded frieze are three drawers each also displaying fine ormolu keyhole escutcheons, their original hardware and showcasing the beautiful mahogany grain. Above is the original fossilized black marble top.
