Important Louis Majorelle Art Nouveau Filing Cabinet, Bookcase, Desk and Chair

About the Item

Unique museum quality, 4-piece Parisian Art Nouveau office furniture set. As far as we know, this is the most complete, Louis Majorelle office furniture set that has been offered in the world in the past 50 years. Most collectors and enthousiasts will know how rare a set like this is, but what makes it even more astonishing is its condition. Apart from the leather on the back of the original desk chair, this set could hardly be in better condition and it would certainly grace any museum for applied arts. The only known office set that comes close to this original and complete set is in the collection of the MAAS museum in Sydney, Australia. So if you are looking for an original, great condition and very rare, antique office interior by one of the world's best Art Nouveau designers then this is your chance. We are convinced it will be the only one you'll ever get. Also, because the Majorelle filing cabinet in this set is the first one of its kind that we have ever seen. For this amazing set of four we have created three listings so that we are able to show you enough pictures of the many hand carved and hand-crafted wooden, bronze, glass and design details per item. Mind you, this unique and stunning filing cabinet is the third and last of those three listings that, together, show and describe this unique Louis Majorelle office funriture set of amazing quality and beauty. Image 7 of this listing shows the complete set as shot in one of our facilities. If you are an Art Nouveau enthousiast who has always dreamed of owning and working in a real Art Nouveau office designed by one of the alltime greats then maybe you should be the next custodian of this museum worthy, top quality and superb condition set. If the matching bookcase, desk and chair have not already won you over then this striking filing cabinet should. Also, because we have not been able to find another filing cabinet by Majorelle anywhere in the world. This makes us believe that this specimen could very well have been commissioned for by one of Majorelle's famous clients, making it truly unique and important. This gracious cabinet with its striking inlaid panels and perfecty hand-carved organic patterns (the same as in the other pieces of this set) comes with various possibilities to store paperwork and more. The four 'filing drawers' at the bottom 'float' when you pull them out via their bronze handles. The three cabinet deep drawers with their perfect bronze handles (again in the same design as the carved and forged patterns in the other pieces) too give space to all kinds of office utensils. Just above the first drawer is a shelf that can be pulled out and that shelf would have been used to 'go through the books on' etc. Finally, in the stunning compartment or open display space on top you can, for example, place an antique clock or a stylish and meaningful sculpture. All drawers come with a perfect working lock and key and so does the door. If you understand the quality and uniqueness and if you appreciate the beauty and condition of this once in a lifetime find then you will love our price. Especially when taken into account that perfect packing (in custom made crates) and worldwide shipping from our store to your door in just a couple of weeks are included in our already fair price. When this set is purchased by a European client then we will probably come and deliver this unique and important set ourselves. Measures: Maximum height x width x depth: 70.7 x 34 x 18.3 inches. We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish yet practical and for craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again).

For this amazing set of four we have created three listings so that we are able to show you enough pictures of the many hand carved and hand-crafted wooden, bronze, glass and design details per item. Mind you, this stunning and almost 8 feet tall 'bibliotheque' or 'library bookcase' is the first one of the three listings that, together, show and describe this unique Louis Majorelle office of amazing quality and beauty. In image 8 of this listing is a photo of the complete set as shot in one of our facilities. This here Majorelle bookcase is the largest and best condition specimen that you will ever see and the workmanship is as good as you will ever be able to find. The deeply hand carved organic plant motifs are simply amazing and these motifs are to be found in all four pieces that this set consists of. What makes this stunning and predominantly solid nutwood bookcase extra special are the inlaid geometrical patterns in both the door panels and in the sides. However, the most impressive and aesthetically special features are the mint condition art glass panels with the top quality forged and hand hammered brass details in the upper part of each door. These metal worker's details, by the way, are the same organic plant motifs as the hand carved ones in the legs and in the 'roof' of this largest ever Majorelle cabinet (as shown in image 9 of this listing). Especially with the doors open you can see the vivid irridescent colors that are in the glass art panels. Below these art glass panels in the doors are large and also superb condtion, beveled glass windows. All the bookshelfs inside of this work of art bookcase are height adjustable and all are in very good condition too. All three doors come with perfect working locks and each door has its own bronze Majorelle designed key (one key is original and we had two more cast). Finally, this antique and museum quality, Art Nouveau gem...

  • Rare German Art Deco Filing Cabinet w. Perfect Roller Door, Five Drawers & Shelf
    Located in Lisse, NL
Finer quality and superb condition, filing cabinet by Ludwig Schraut. This rare German filing cabinet is another fine example of the quality furniture that was made in the earliest years of the 20th century. The angular design and the almost ebony color patina are an absolute joy to look at. This all original Art Deco filing cabinet for home and office is not only pleasing to the eye though. It is as stable as the day it was handcrafted and as you can see, it is extremely well taken care of. The solid wooden roller door (probably beech) still works perfectly too and it comes with a perfect working lock and the original Art Deco key...
