Italian 18th Century Louis XIV Period Ebony and Reverse Painted Glass Cabinet
About the Item
A stunning and high quality Italian 18th century Louis XIV Period ebony and reverse painted glass cabinet on stand. The cabinet is raised on the original stand with four square tapered legs with bun feet, and an X-stretcher with a central topie finial. The cabinet displays fifteen exquisitely executed reverse painted glass recessed panels, all in perfect condition. The panels are separated by richly chased pierced ormolu mounts, rosettes and keyhole escutcheons. Each glass panel depicts charming period scenes in the Italian countryside. Both doors, with impressive original locks, open to reveal two shelves, and are centered by three drawers. All original gilt and hardware.
