Japanese Meiji Period Late 19th Century Merchant's Chest Mounted on Wheels

About the Item

A Japanese Meiji period merchant's chest from the late 19th century, with wheels, sliding doors and dark patina. Created in Japan during the second half of the 19th century, this merchant's chest features a dark brown patina perfectly complimenting the simple lines. Two levels of slatted doors slide to the side to reveal convenient storage including three drawers in the lower section. Mounted on four wheels, this late 19th century Meiji period Japanese merchant's chest will make for a great addition to any bedroom, living room or foyer.
