Visually arresting bar cart or cocktail cabinet by Italian artist-craftsman Aldo Tura, displaying his distinct use of goatskin that Tura was well known for. His quality of craftsmanship which can be attributed to the limited series production, sometimes limited to only the prototype and often used unconventional materials including; eggshell, parchment, leather and wood veneering. This uniquely shaped piece comprises of a number of design features, displays printed copies of impressionist paintings by Renoir and finished in lacquered goats skin of a burnt umber hue mixed with copper tones. The front comprises of; a bottom panel decorated with a framed print of Renoir's Luncheon of the Boating Party (1881-1882), lockable top cabinet, presenting a bordered print of Renoir's Dance at Bougival (1883), which opens via a sizable spoked wheel shaped piece of hardware in antiqued gold toned finish with a protruding handle on the rim to reveal a mirrored interior with two glass shelves, perfect for stashing liquor bottles and glassware. At one side is a large, ornately decorated pull handle to allow the cabinet to be easily maneuvered and relocated from room to room. Below that are four (4) drawers, the top one is false and the three (3) below are fully functioning allowing them to slide in and out easily by ornate pull knobs in the same finish and are ideal for stowing bar accessories such as napkins, cocktail paraphernalia or cheeky cigar cache. On the other side is a small, low positioned door with the uniform hardware, that unveils another storage area for more libations or bar accessories. The base constitutes of two large revolving wheels opposite two casters, both finished in complimentary gold tones. This stunning piece can function as a bar cart, cocktail cabinet or dry bar and is an apt conversation starter, injecting some Italian chic in to any room concept.
