Pair of Mid-19th Century French Louis XIV Carved Hand Painted Jelly Cabinets

About

Crafted in northern France circa 1840, each "Confiturier" (French for jelly cabinet), stands on bun feet over a straight plinth molding; the cabinet features a single door with recessed panel decorated with hand carved rosettes medallions motifs in each corner, over a large drawer across the front embellished with rhombus geometric decor. Both tall cabinets are in excellent condition with a textured patinated painted finish in the light blue grey palette; versatile, they could be used as nightstands, or on either side of a front door. Inside shelving for additional storage, locks and keys included. Measures: 33" W x 20" D x 42" H.
