About the Item
The Asymmetrical Chest of Drawers in Solid English Walnut is one of two pieces commissioned by a private client for their home in Yorkshire, England. The Asymmetrical sides give a sculptural feel to the pieces. They are made of solid Scottish walnut with a curved back designed to sit out slightly from the wall.
The three drawers all run on fully extendable soft close runners.

Jonathan Field
Jonathan’s work has been shown at various exhibitions and shows in the UK and Abroad and by his gallery Connaught Brown of London. Jonathan is a member of the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers. He was delighted to be awarded a bespoke guild mark award for an edition of ten chairs in rippled ash completed in 2017. “Much of my inspiration comes from the patterns, shapes and textures found in nature, from the micro to full-scale aerial and landscape views, simple flowing lines and visual-tactile details of the wood are framed within each design. Using wood predominantly from the UK, that has a history and a beauty entirely unique to each piece, the distinctive aspects of the timber are often a starting point when considering a project for a client, the selection of the materials, the detail and love of the making process are all carried through within each piece.
The chest of drawers can be made in different sizes and timbers such as oak or ash.
For oak and ash, different finish such as grain stained, darkened or bleached.
I can also do a textured surface finish, ie, the grain is brushed to bring out the texture.
