About the Item

The top and drawer fronts of this chest are inlaid with a band of bee's wing satinwood framed by ebony and boxwood lines. There are two indentations in the surface of the front right corner.

With superlative marquetry inlays of satinwood quarter fans on the perimeter of each drawer as well as "Adam" style satinwood and ebony fan escutcheons, to the delicate checkered inlay on the cornice frieze, this Chest on Chest has it all. Please note that this is a superior made Chest on Chest having elm drawer linings versus the traditional oak or deal (pine) all standing upon handsome ogee feet. Please note the substantial number of images showing the great condition of this piece and the hand dovetailed top signifying the early Georgian date when this was done.
