Japanese Antique Small Wooden Drawer / 1865-1868 / Late Edo Period / Storage Box

About the Item

This is a small Japanese wooden drawer. I think it's a drawer that was used in shops and other places where small tools were put. The handle is made of iron. It is a cool drawer that feels wabi-sabi. lso, the year name is written on the back board, "Keio" is written. I couldn't decipher what year Keio was made because the letters were worn out. Also, the place is written as "Nasu". This is present-day Nasu Town in Tochigi Prefecture. Presumably made here. It is quite rare to find items with a clear origin. Drawers can be opened and closed smoothly. Recommended item. Weight: 3.85kg.
