Decorative pair of Swedish Gustavian-style chests of drawers, crafted in pine and finished in a beautiful light blue green paint with an attractive aged patina, allowing the warm tones of the wood to show through the surface, adding depth and character. The moulded tops are adorned with an elegant hand-carved dentil frieze, while the three drawers are decorated with refined carved geometric panels featuring circular medallions. The corners are embellished with fluted pilasters, crowned by carved diamond motifs that emphasize the chests' classic Gustavian character. The brass handles provide a warm contrast to the cool colour palette and highlight the decorative detailing of the pieces. Sweden, circa 1840–1860.
