American Chippendale Style Walnut Block-Front Chest on Chest
Constructed in the early 20th century, this is a bench made, handcrafted reproduction of an 18th century chest on chest. It features a bonnet top with three flaming urn finials. The two-part block front case displays convex and concave shell carvings above eight graduated drawers, each with brass bat-wing bail handles and escutcheons. It is raised on tall bracket feet with a fan shell detail on the apron. Note the dovetailed construction and the old wood used to construct it.
