An extremely good quality and elegant georgian mahogany seprentine chest, which boasts a good, bold serpentine shape. It is also constructed from good quality mahogany timbers and has real presence to it. Quite unusually for an item from this period it retains original brass swan neck handles as well as its original shaped bracket feet, both of which are really great features. Overall the condition is also good, one would imagine a result of many years of being cherished and loved and looked after. These include the exceptional quality of construction, the use of the well figured, rich mahogany timbers and the practical dimensions. The colour and patina throughout remain excellent and overall it is in good condition with very little restoration, or damage of consequence to speak of. The retention of its original brass handles and its original bracket feet is another indicator of how well loved and cherished this item has been throughout the years of its life.
