About the Item

A stunning chest of drawers by high quality American manufacturer Gabberts Design Studio and Fine Furniture. Crafted in luxurious Italian Louis XV taste, exceptionally executed, featuring a serpentine shaped hand painted greenish black with white veining faux marble top, over a conforming elaborately shaped and curvacious bombe (bombay) form solid wooden case fitted with four drawers. Having richly detailed carved ornamentation, a pair of side by side frieze drawers above two large stacked drawer fronts adorned with ornate Rocaille elements and scrolling foliate motif, affixed with patinated brass fittings, above a gently undulating scalloped skirt, rising elegantly on four cabriole legs, terminating in pad feet, finished in a sophisticated brilliant gilt silver painted finish, enhanced by adding faux antique character marks and rich lustrous depth with intentional distressing, faux weathered, tarnished patina finish. Signed, back stamped Gabberts. Dimensions: (approx) 35" high, 46" wide (at top back of marbleized top), 19" deep. Please note that the widest point is at the back, about mid-way up where it curves outward on each side, measuring 49.75" Wide. Good proportions and offering plenty of storage space, the versatile piece can be used a variety of different ways, including a bedroom dresser, dining room sideboard server, credenza, hutch, hall console, or placed in the foyer as a stunning entry statement piece!
