An exceptional pair of Lacca Povera small commodes or chest of drawers. Beautifully painted in excellent mostly original condition with minor restoration on the faux finished tops. Italy, early 19th century.
Lacca Povera is a decorative finishing technique, often used on furniture in the 18th century that is essentially an Italian interpretation and perfection of French decoupage.
