Early 18th Century Antique English Queen Anne Walnut Chest of Drawers

About the Item

A fine Queen Anne period antique patinated, walnut chest of drawers. The chest has a rectangular moulded top with contrasting feather banding. In the centre is an oval panel, quarter veneered with a feather banded surround. Below are four oak-lined graduated drawers which retain a set of brass handles and escutcheons, which are not original but date from the 18th century. The chest stands on four bund feet which are later replacements.

    This superb George I period antique longcase clock by Daniel Delander is cased in highly figured walnut veneer of lovely colour and patina. Standing on a double plinth there is a panelled base and moulded trunk door. The pull forward hood is flanked by quarter columns with brass capitals. The case retains the original caddy top surmounted by two finials. The square dial has an applied chapter ring with cherubin spandrels.
