Wimbledon-Furniture Wimbledon-Furniture is delighted to offer for sale this very original circa 1870 Military Campaign chest with exceptionally rare White & Co LTD transport labels   Its very rare to find a piece like this with transport labels on, it means the owner of this trunk was of great wealth and substance, just google white & co ltd furniture depositories and the first few results are all auction house results for various small pieces of furniture that have sold in the thousands, a bin for £11,000 a centre table for £5,000 and so on This piece for its age is in fantastic condition throughout, naturally the piece will have patina marks all-over from age transport and use, the handles are all original present and correct The History of White & Company The story about us, White & Company. It was back in 1871 that Mr. White started his business in Portsmouth. Our company is still owned by the White family today making it the largest (and possibly the oldest) family owned removals business in the UK with around 200 vehicles and over 450 staff. History of White & Company:- In those days the company occupied itself transferring passengers’ baggage from the Atlantic liners to and from London.
