Pair of 18th Century Louis XV Carved Walnut Corner Cabinets from Lyon
About the Item
Dress up two corners walls in a living room or dining room with this elegant pair of antique fruitwood cabinets. Crafted in Lyon, France, using both doors of an "Armoire Lyonnaise", each tall "Encoignure" (corner cabinet) stands on scroll feet over a scalloped apron decorated with a carved center round medallion motif; each cabinet features an arched bonnet top with deep, decorative foliage carvings. The door is decorated with shell and floral motifs, and reveals three fitted inside shelves. The large corner cabinets are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorn a rich walnut patina. Original 18th century locks and huge keys included. Place these tall cupboards in a den or dining room for extra storage.
