About the Item
This Scandinavian modern rosewood credenza dresser was designed by Danish designers Ejner Larsen and Aksel Bender Madsen for Naestved Mobelfabrik circa 1959. It functions as a credenza and dresser with a sliding door on the left side with an adjustable interior shelf and four drawers on the right side. The cabinet features circualr recessed pulls and beautifully sculpted 12" height legs with cross braces for a sleek design and iron supports for added stability. This verstatile piece is perfect for a dining room, living room or bedroom and is finished on the backside so it can be used as a room divider.
Ejner Larsen and Aksel Bender met each other while they were both studying cabinet making under the leading Danish designer Kaare Klint. They designed approximately 300 pieces together. Their design pieces have been collected and exhibited by museums such as the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Busch-Reisinger Museum of the Harvard Art Museums in Boston, and several museums in Japan.
