Gianfranco for Bernini Credenza with Tambour Doors

About

Gianfranco Frattini for Bernini, credenza, rosewood, Italy, 1960s. This credenza in rosewood is designed by Frattini. It features the typical design traits of Frattini such as the tambour doors but also the legs that feature a border with standing edges that create a certain space and depth to the piece. The grain and flames of the rosewood on the piece are another defining element which add a luxurious feel and warmth to the piece. Gianfranco Frattini (1926-2004) was an Italian designer and architect. Similarly to many other architects, Frattini became an interior and Industrial designer because he missed the specific furnishings for his buildings. Frattini was a very skilled woodworker and was a student of Gio Ponti. His style can be defined by its architectural structure and playful lines.
