Gianfranco Frattini Sideboard in Rosewood for Bernini, Italy, 1957
Rosewood sideboard with tambour doors designed by Gianfranco Frattini for Bernini, Italy, 1957. A beautifully designed Mid-Century Modern sideboard with three vertical tambour doors. The sideboard is executed in a magnificent flamed and grained rosewood which adds a luxurious feel and warmth to the piece. On the left side a chest of drawers with the oval shaped Frattini drawer handles, on the right side two shelves. Beautifully bent feet and rosewood finished backside. The sideboard has been fully restored and refinished with a UV- and water stain protective lacquer. In excellent condition. Gianfranco Frattini (1926-2004) was an Italian designer and architect. Similarly to many other architects, Frattini became an interior and Industrial designer because he missed the specific furnishing for his buildings. Frattini was a very skilled woodworker and was a student of Gio Ponti. His style can be defined by its architectural structure and playful lines.
