About the Item

This vintage cabinet was crafted in the early Showa Era (1926–1950) from Japanese sugi (cedar) wood, with a natural finish that showcases the wood's authentic grain and warm character. This elegant cabinet features two sliding glass doors with a refined grid pattern that frames the contents beautifully, making it ideal for both storage and display. Crafted from sugi, the natural wood finish highlights the grain's gentle variations and honest texture—a testament to the beauty of unadorned materials. The interior is thoughtfully designed with multiple removable shelves, offering versatile storage for books, dishware, collectibles, or cherished objects. The clean lines and functional design reflect the practical sensibility of mid-century Japanese craftsmanship, while the warm wood tones bring a sense of calm and grounding to any room. Perfect as a bookcase, display cabinet, or kitchen storage in spaces that value simplicity and natural materials. Cleaned and disinfected with a non-toxic solution. Glass doors slide smoothly. As a vintage piece, minor scratches and marks may be present, each adding to its unique charm and the story it tells over time. It has been carefully inspected and remains in excellent vintage condition, with natural signs of age that enhance its character. The interior dimensions are as follows (in inches, with centimeters in parentheses): Upper left section: W20.5" × D9.4", 12.4" × H10.6", 10.8" (52.0 × 24.0, 31.5 × 27.0, 27.5 cm) Upper right section: W11.8" × D9.4", 9.4", 12.4" × H6.7", 7.1", 7.1" (30.0 × 24.0, 24.0, 31.5 × 17.0, 18.0, 18.0 cm) - shelves are removable Lower section: W30.9" × D11.4", 13.0" × H7.5", 11.8" (78.5 × 29.0, 33.0 × 19.0, 30.0 cm) - shelves are removable Weight: 49.4 lbs (22.4 kg) Shipping Information We ship from Japan.
