19th century rosewood French Louis XV style marquetry bureau desk with secret compartment, circa 1870. It is decorated throughout with beautiful floral marquetry and the of the cylinder has a stunning marquetry panel. It has a beautiful top with a gilt brass three quarter gallery around it. The door opens to reveal a fitted interior with four small drawers and a pullout / pull-out writing surface fitted with an inset red velvet. The bureau has its original ormolu handles and mounts and stands on gorgeous ormolu-mounted cabriole legs. It has a secret compartment for you to discover ...
