About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning Harrods London burr walnut writing desk with brown leather surface and long cabriolet legs finished with claw and ball feet T’s a fine example of a library reading table and partner desk. The burr walnut veneer is box cut from premium pieces, the patina is to die for. The thick leather writing surface is gold tooled, the long cabriolet legs start with acanthus leave carving to the top and finish with tradition claw and ball feet. The handles are in the manor of the early Georgian desk handles The desk has five drawers to one side and five faux drawers to the other, the idea being that if you wish to use this desk to work at with clients on the opposite side to yourself then it doesn’t look odd We have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, the leather top has some wear and tear, three repaired rips which add to the vintage look and feel, there are chips scratches and fair ware patina marks in various places, they all add to the vintage look and feel of the piece Dimensions Height 79 cm Width 152.5 cm Depth 91.5 cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
