18th Century French Provincial Pine Farmhouse Dresser

About the Item

Rustic 18th century country French provincial two-part farmhouse dresser with a plate rack and crafted from 1 inch thick pine planks. The plate rack has three display shelves above five cubbies or pigeon hole storage areas. Each side of the rack has a pilaster column style support that is reeded. The rack is surmounted by a cornice molding. The dresser measures 34 inches high with six storage drawers flanking two center doors opening to an open storage area. The drawers have round wooden pulls and one drawer has vent holes for proofing dough. Beautifully aged, distressed patina on the soft warm pine finish with desirable wear. Provenance: From the estate of artist Ira Yeager (American 1938-2022) Calistoga, CA.
